Night on the town

On Friday, the girls and I went to downtown Kansas City to meet Devin for dinner. We ate at Fritz's in the Crown Center mall. We had never been there before but we thought it would be for for the girls. It's a train themed restaurant where you place your order by phone and a train delivers the food to your table. The train was kind of loud, and Piper would cry and hit the deck every time it passed overhead.

After dinner we headed across the street to Devin's office to see where all the magic happens. Devin has been working there for almost a year now and, while we have been to the building several times to pick him up or drop things off, we had never been up to see his office. Payton was excited to find out Daddy's office is on the 19th floor because her cubbyhole number at school is 19. It was nice to finally see where Devin spents all his time. I was quite surprised to see that Devin has turned into a hoarder. His office is completely covered in binders. He claims that it's an organized mess -- I guess that's fine as long as he doesn't bring it home. The girls enjoyed sitting in his chair and pretending to work. Hopefully Piper didn't mess up too many of his piles.

Afterward we went outside and let the girls run through the Crown Center fountains. Payton was a little more brave this year and really had a good time. Piper had no interest in the water, and just wanted to walk around in Payton's shoes. We had to head home a little early because a thunderstorm blew in. It was a great Friday night.
