After owning his car for just over a year, Devin decided it would be a good idea to total it. Driving home last month during the first sleet of the winter season, he slid off the road, took out two street signs, and ran his car down into a concrete ditch. The tow truck pulled the car out of the ditch and Devin was able to drive it to the body shop. After the body shop tore the car apart, the insurance company decided to total the car due to "hidden damage". Unfortunately they didn't pay us nearly what we owed on it. After several weeks of shopping around he finally bought a Mercury Milan, which he loves so far. As scary and stressful as this has been we are grateful he wasn't hurt. It could have been a lot worse. Although, if he decides to wreck another car, we will be purchasing him a Moped or a bus pass.
