Road Trip!

Devin took his last law school final Monday morning and that afternoon we hit the road for Denver. It was a great trip. Somehow the girls managed to stay awake for eight and a half of the nine hour drive. We stopped a few times along the way for photo-ops and bathroom stops. We had dinner at a memorable Arby's in Hays, Kansas where Melissa met her first "tranny." On Tuesday morning Devin attended oral arguments at the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Last fall Devin worked on a criminal sentencing appeal for his firm and the Tenth Circuit took it up for oral argument. It was a great experience to see his appeal get argued before the court. Tuesday afternoon we went to the Denver zoo with Payton's new BFF (and Melissa's four-year old first cousin) Avery. Payton and Avery were just adorable together. Wednesday we visited the Denver aquarium. It was simply amazing. There were sharks, eels, sting rays, sea horses, and turtles. But our favorites were the back-flipping sea otters. It was a wonderful road trip.

Instant friends.

Do you see the shark sneaking up on Payton?
