Zoo Trip

Last Saturday we decided to continue our weekend of family fun so we headed to the Topeka zoo. Devin has been working a lot the last few weekends, so we took full advantage of having him around. We like the Topeka zoo because it's smaller than the Kansas City zoo and less crowded. You can get up pretty close to all the animals so it's perfect for little kids. Some of the highlights were the baby giraffe, a tiger in a tree, elephants, a grumpy gorilla (Payton kept asking why he was so sad), and we got to see one lion attack another.
After the zoo we headed over to Gage Park for a train ride and a couple of spins on the carousel. During lunch Payton said, "This is the best day ever!" -- she actually says that a lot. Lucky for us she's pretty easy to please.
