Autumn Days

Part I: Summer slipped away and its getting cold in Kansas. This weekend we headed back to Lawrence to visit our favorite pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful day. Payton picked out a big orange pumpkin and Piper got a green one. Payton informed us yesterday that this year she wants her pumpkin to be carved to look like a big pumpkin eating a small pumpkin. "And the small pumpkin making a sad face because he doesn't like being eaten." Makes sense.

Part II: Today the sun came back out and the girls went out to play in the leaves. Payton racked the leaves all afternoon and made a decent sized pile. She liked sitting in the pile, but was quick to make sure there weren't any leaves on her shirt. Piper was scared of the leaves until she discovered how great they taste. Last week the tree in our front yard turned a beautiful red color and Melissa took a fabulous photo. We just had to share it.
