Miss Paisley

May 13, 2011
Paisley Debra
was born!
Weighing 6lbs, 15oz,
measuring 18" long.

Her delivery could not have been easier. We arrived at the hospital around 8am to be induced. By 9am, after three attempts to get the IV hooked up to my arm, we were ready to go. By 9:30, the Pitocin was started, I had my epidural, and my water was broke. Just before noon, without feeling a single contraction, Paisley was born. She is our smallest baby by almost a pound.

The first week has gone smoothly. Devin was able to take a week off work, which has been nice. Things might not go so well next week when I'm on my own. Paisley still spends 98% of her time sleeping. Every once in a while we get a few squeaks and chirps out of her. If she does manage to get out a cry Payton and Piper go into panic mode thinking something is wrong.

The girls have been very sweet with her. Payton would not leave her side the first couple of days and could spend all day holding her. Piper also likes to hold her and makes sure she always has her binky.

Meeting Piper for the first time.

While we were in the hospital Devin's parents stayed with the girls. They took a trip to Toys 'R Us to get a present for the baby, and Piper managed to escape. After a few minutes of looking they notified the workers at the store and a "code Adam" was issued. They started a search party and checked everyone leaving the store. Finally, a lady found her and asked if her name was "Piper." Piper replied, "Yes. I hiding". Later they came to visit us at the hospital were Piper pooped on the floor. Gotta love the girl, she keeps us on our toes. Devin's poor parents probably need a vacation after spending the weekend with her.

Ready to go home.

Best big sister!
