Not Guilty!!!

Last week Devin won his first case...

Within a few weeks of starting work, Devin was assigned a Pro Bono case representing a fifteen year old juvenile against a charge of third degree assault. The allegation centered around an incident where Devin's client allegedly caused 6-inch laceration to the victim's leg which required 22 stitches. Devin focused the defense around the fact that there was no evidence of criminal intent to cause the injury. When the state closed its case, Devin stood up and made a motion for acquittal on grounds that the state had failed to prove this necessary element of its case. The judge granted the motion and found Devin's client not guilty! Above is a photo of Devin with the highly-persuasive exhibit ("big-A" posterboard) he presented in court.
