new job, new school, new car...

We had another crazy week last week. Devin started his job on Tuesday which also happened to be the day the bar exam results came back for the Missouri bar. Devin was especially nervous because the Missouri Bar Association posts the names of all the passing candidates on their website, and he knew he'd be at a reception with the firm at the time the results came out. After a sleepless night and a long day of training we finally found out HE PASSED! What a relief it is to finally have it all over. We went out to dinner to celebrate and on the way home Devin's car, Chato died. I mean, really died. The repair shop announced Wednesday that Chato would need a new motor and that it would cost $7,000. Needless to say, that was a repair we were not going to make. Devin would like to take a minute however, to thank Chato for all his hard work. He bought Chato before he moved out to BYU to start his undergrad, and Chato lived just long enough, to get Devin to (although not from) his first day of work. Thanks buddy, I'll miss you. It was bitter sweet using the repair money to put a down payment on a sleek Nissan Altima. Sweet for Devin, and bitter for Melissa who has to put up with her ugly Camry, Ulga, for a little longer.

Payton also had a big week. Tuesday was also her first day at her new preschool. She must have inherited her father's anxiety issues because she was also up all night worrying about her big day. She loved it. She couldn't wait to tell Melissa when she got in the car that there was a boy named Raisin in her class. "Isn't that funny???" she said. We found out later that his name is actually Brazen. Close enough. Payton also began her dance classes last week. We enrolled her in a tap/ballet class, which will hopefully improve her balance. You've never seen a kid that falls down so many times in one day. After our long week of work, preschool, dance class, playgroup, etc., Payton told Melissa, "Daddy and Me are so busy."
